I agree that it is better to show the mattress's relationship to its surroundings, only going in close when details of the mattress's design warrant it.
In West Oakland you seem blessed with these wonderfully photogenic vistas of industrial decay, while here in west London one suburban front garden looks much like another.

i'm not in a position to comment on how many foreign affairs condi's had - whether or not on a mattress near or far.

I agree, but it is a matter of space. Belgium is rather a small country, hence our ministry of foreign affairs is more important than condeleece rice's (we just have more foreign affairs), our mattress are never that far away.

for me its about situation and placement. a close up of a mattress is... well just a mattress. a mattress in a field next to a foot path below a box of chocolates beside a train is more than the sum of these parts. so i use wider angles and i do crop sometimes. i'm not one to use zoom.

You almost invariably use a wide-angle shot - is this deliberate? Are you not keen on cropping or zooming?

a box of chocolates without the 'map.'

Is the pic in the ad of a box of chocolates?

VISA as in the credit card, yes. It's 8 am here.
wim commented on 04.14.06
Visa as in american express? What time where you are now? Over here almost 5 pm

the ad says 'life takes exploration... life takes visa.' the ad campaign started during the winter olympics and we're still stuck with it.
wim commented on 04.14.06
life takes what?

Its the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). It's not a single track.

Neat composition, lovely colours. Is that a monorail? Monorail! Monorail! in the background?
