I always say herbal tea tastes "bloody herbal" (horrible) in a Bristol accent and my friends know they have to laugh.

Fruit teas always smell nice but taste of nothing to me....

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
Well herbal doesn't bother me if it's really herbs, like peppermint, chamomile, rasberry leaves, whatever. It's when they start throwing the spice cabinet in there with it that I get turned off. That stuff is just not tea. I'd rather drink plain hot water.

Nancy Dumpling commented on 09.27.05
Oooooo. I hate fancy tea - herbal, fruit etc yuk. Dishwater.

Earl Grey seems so popular around here. Even my mother drank it. I never know what I'm going to encounter when someone asks me if I'd like a cup of tea. At best, it might be a cup of Earl Grey. At worst, all sorts of nasty concoctions full of cinnamon and orange peels and everything else.

I couldn't stomach EG now. I only acquired the taste when I worked alongside a team of people who all drank it and, crucially, the mugga tea was made *for* me.

Yorkshire tea is the best of the "normal" teas I find. I'm with you on Earl Grey Rebecca - I don't mind it but it is like getting a mouth full of perfume.

Smart Set commented on 09.27.05
Sorry, I'm going on about them too much. Their big hit with a bullet was If I Had a Photograph of You, and I thought it was good, being in a somewhat infatuated state at the time. Bye.

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
Gotta go for now, bye.

Maybe. I was horrified to learn that the youth of Europe listened to Michael Jackson. It was so disillusioning.

Smart Set commented on 09.27.05
You probably heard A Flock of Seagulls then without knowing it.

I think I may have just found it online. 46 Norfolk Square, Paddington it says. It was many years ago, in the 80s.

I don't remember where but it was a cheap area and I stayed at the St. George. We have an old hotel by that name here in Downtown Santa Cruz, you see. And I got great fish and chips at a hole in the wall around the corner from Victoria Station.

Where in London?

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
I was in London and found the best tea at the corner store down from the B&B where I stayed...this was the sort of store that sells mainly liquor and razor blades but their cheap tea was better than a lot of tea you find here.

I like Japanese tea, I also like herb tea, but I have a special fondness for black tea with cream and buttery biscuits. Everybody raves about Earl Grey but I've never much cared for it (after all, it's flavored).

Ordinary PG Tips. Ceylon, I think the posh caffs call it. But in the past I've been through Earl Grey and jasmine phases. They're acquired tastes. I suppose you like Japanese teas, do you?

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
Oo, that sounds exactly perfect. What kind of tea do you like?

Smart Set commented on 09.27.05
Fox's All-Butter Crunch, to be precise.

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
A cup of tea sounds just lovely right about now. With some little biscuit thingys.

I knew you hated yellow houses - you said so the other day. It's not my cup of tea. My cup of tea is right beside me as I type.

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
I like the roof though.

Rebecca commented on 09.27.05
No, sorry but I find it abhorrent.

Smart Set commented on 09.27.05
D'ya like the yellow house, Rebecca?
