May I crave your indulgence for this, my #800? Back on a freezing January morning I photographed this mattress along with another, in pic #6534. Well, it's still on the balcony and I see it nearly every day, but today I noticed that the other matt had disappeared and this one was now alone, and leaning out instead of in (perhaps looking for its pal). At exactly 4pm the afternoon sunlight was catching it and making it look really lovely in spite of its 6-month exposure to the elements, and creating a very different mood to that in my January pic. I liked the way the blue stripes were echoed in the flowerpot, too, so on the spur of the moment I took this photo. An alternative look, then, at a long-stay mattress, and one that, I think, helps us to achieve a better understanding of the way in which a streetmattress can change.

This mattress, first pictured nearly a year ago (Jan 26th '05) in #6534 is still there, but has lost its fresh look and is now bent at the bottom and looks as though it's kneeling.
