Rebecca and ND, do you like adventure stories about cats? Check out "Varjak Paw" on Amazon.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.10.05
58. Ok, do my best to be more positive.
Smart Set commented on 06.10.05
I don't wanna feel those negative waves, Nancy. No negative waves.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.10.05
Might try. Doubt it would work for me though....
Smart Set commented on 06.10.05
I put "I don't expect this picture will receive even one comment." Reverse psychology.
Rebecca commented on 06.10.05
What did you do?
Smart Set commented on 06.10.05
Every time.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.10.05
Hmmmm. Does that always work??
Smart Set commented on 06.10.05
Can you see what I did there, Nancy?
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.10.05
I don't expect this picture will receive even one comment.

Steady on, Nancy, you might break streetmattress. ART did once.

Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.09.05
Truly! Little so and so's....
Smart Set commented on 06.09.05
Sounds as though some cats were having a good time!
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.08.05
I did ring them but they said they had a big incident down on Mansfield Road in Bedminster. Some illegal rave or something....apparantly the particpants were trying to recreate a wild holiday in Ayia Napa....
Smart Set commented on 06.08.05
Nancy, did you get the police round to dust for prints etc?
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.08.05
Hey all you kitties! Yeah, we took the cash from ND's purse before we realised it was a scam. So we had a night on the tiles instead. You know....drinking white russians (milk and vodkat), sniffing catnip and the boyz amongst us even managed to find the time to visit a little feline massage parlour...feeling a little ruffled this morning though. Off to ND's bed for a catnap. Night night!
Molly and Jim commented on 06.08.05
Hey, Versace and Ginger Dave! (Cool names, by the way.) Perhaps you didn't read the full story; the gym for cats isn't real, Smart Set just made it up to impress Nancy Dumpling, but now it's backfired cos her cats have gone and half-inched sixty smackers from her purse. Incidentally, how did you cats learn to type?
Versace+Ginger Dave commented on 06.07.05
Can we join too!Tho' we'll have to pass on the chicken. Our human-FOD40-says it gives us the 'tommy-tits'(whatever that means!?)
Molly and Jim commented on 06.07.05
Hey, guys, put that cash back - we told you, Smart Set's gym is imaginary!
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
Sorry to hear that, Nancy. Have you considered the possibility that the felon could have been a cat burglar?
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.07.05
Have to put it on hold Smart Set. I'm skint, somebody's had 60 nicker out of my purse this afternoon. Can't think how, I haven't even taken it out of the house! Anyway, must dash gotta go and feed the cats their scampi dinner. Have a nice evening!
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
Hey, Nancy, you never got back to me about your cats joining my Fit Cats ™ gym. Still interested? We have a few places left.
Molly et Jim commented on 06.07.05
Yeah, do watch out for them - Mitzi is a Siamese and Fritzi is black. Yeah, well we're lucky, too. We stowed away in Smart Set's luggage. One night, we were all in...gotta go, Smart Set's coming!
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
Nope. Will keep an eye and an ear out for them though....might see them on a hot tin roof some time. Very near to our gaff! They got to go to Ayia Napa?! Lucky little things.....
Molly and Jim commented on 06.07.05
'Fraid not. He is only interested in hunting mattresses. He never thinks of us anyway, he is totally self-centred and off in a world of his own. He does have his own litter of five to feed though. Hey, do you happen to know Mitzi and Fritzi who hang out in Mansfield Rd, Bedminster? We met them on holiday last year in Ayia Napa. Nice couple.
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
Hey Molly and Jim! Did your human not even bring you back a couple of nice juicy Kensal Green pigeons of late? We heard our human talking about them....ohhhh pigeon pie, pigeon risotto, pigeon paella.....
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
Yummmy!
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
Molly & Jim, nice to hear from you! What a cat cheat and a fraudster that Mr Smart Set is! Mind you, not our money anyway - would have had to pilchard it from our human's purse somehow. So, "touchtyping4catz" hey? We all did "Shortpaw for Streetcats" this year and found it very useful for leaving messages for our pussy pals. Purrs and licks, ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM
Molly and Jim commented on 06.07.05
Hey, so you like scampi, eh? We like Danish Honey and Mustard Ham from M & S. When we can get it!
Molly and Jim commented on 06.07.05
Hey, Nancy Dumpling (Jnr), Dusty Springfield, Frank and Tony Montana! Smart Set is our human and let us tell you that guy is such a con artist. There is no Fat Cats gym here - he doesn't even have a garden shed or an exercise bike. We are not overweight, but that's because he hardly ever seems to remember to feed us. If it weren't for the nice old lady nextdoor we'd probably starve. Anyway, don't send him any money, you'll never see anything for it. The only thing that is real is the "Touchtyping4Cats" classes that he teaches, which are quite god.
Laterz. Molly and Jim.
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
Excellent. We will torture her until she submits. Will be seeing you soon.
Yours faithfully,
ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
P.S We prefer scampi in a basket. With a side order of chicks.
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
Hi, cats. We usually require two of the following forms of ID: microchips, vet bills, collar tags, pussports. However, in your case, a letter of introduction from your human will suffice because of the streetmattress connection.
Moggies ND (Jnr), DS, F & TM commented on 06.07.05
We're in! Purrrrfect! What forms of kitty ID will you accept Mr Smart Set?
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
Yes, I can assure you that Fit Cats ™ has all mog cons. It's lavishly equipped, having all the latest kit for cats to work out on, after which they can chill and have a 'chat' in the Relaxatorium, where they can order chicken in the basket.
n commented on 06.07.05
Dear Fit Cats ™
May I ask, do you also offer social and recreational facilities – such as table furball and milk bar? In addition, does your esteemed establishment have an ice rink as my fat cats are minded to partake in a touch of mice dancing and curling? Kindest regards,
ND
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, we offer family membership at £60 per month for up to twenty family members upon production of two forms of ID, and no, we are currently unable to offer aerobiscuits classes as our instructor is in hospital with whisker strain, but classes will resume ASAP.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.07.05
Dear Fit Cats (TM),
Sold. The cheque is in the post - please sign up Nancy Dumpling (Jnr), Dusty Springfield, Frank and Tony Montana. Family membership deal possible? They are particularly fond of cat aerobiscuits. Do you provide such classes in which they could participate?
Yours sincerely
ND

"Do cats do that in Acton?" You bet they do, Nancy. Many Actonians, such as me (and probably psychobabble), concerned at the growing number of fat cats in the neighbourhood, have started up cat gyms. Why, I'm often heard referring to "my cat Jim". (It's no coincidence that 'Acton' is an anagram of 'no cat', the word 'fat' having been lost over the years.) And losing the fat is just what my feline clients want to do. At my gym, "Fit Cats" (TM), the cats can do all kinds of catisthenic toning exercises: stretching, back-arching, calf-rubbing, running, jumping up, tail-chasing, furniture-scratching, lap-kneading, yawning, yes, even puss-ups, to become the slimline felines they always wanted to be. They slink in as fat cats and leap out as fit cats, "feline a whole lot better"! Membership costs from just £20 per month (Mousing Skillz Package extra). So, if you are a groggy moggy, sign up miaow, and discover a mew you!
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.07.05
The real ND is indeed a cat. "Nancy Dumpling's Mum" (You have seen her arm/hand combo already!) shall be appearing on this website shortly and I hope you will all be nice to her!!..... (I possibly could be a blue loopy thing as well but that's beside the point...!) But a cat toning it's tummy, I mean really SS! Do cats do that in Acton?!
Smart Set commented on 06.07.05
But I thought you told us that Nancy Dumpling was a cat. So, a cat had a tummy-toning blue loopy thing? And why do you refer to yourself in the third person here? Are you in fact a blue loopy thing yourself?
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.02.05
My knowledge of both is also limited - but the blue loop is indeed a tummy toning thingy. I'm sure Nancy Dumpling's Mum had one at some point - hence the memory.
Smart Set commented on 05.31.05
Ha! My plan worked. This picture would have remained a "0 comments" forever had I not put that remark. Anyway, Rebecca, even a close examination of the original offers no further clues as to the blue loopy thing's former function, but I suspect it was involved in the exercise/fitness business, or was possibly a type of sun lounger, but my knowledge of both those worlds is negligible, so I could be way off.
Rebecca commented on 05.31.05
What I'm wondering is, what's that blue loopy thing at the top?
