The backdrop is the side of an optical-illusion-patterned bedbase which is lying flat, not the top of it, but it's deceptive because the dandelion is so small.

I'm glad that one wasn't wasted...

I can't believe I just got that.

"Paw typists"...groan...
(okay I admit I liked it)

Your dandematt has now had the comments it deserves.....!!

DVD Dan put me straight on non-mattress type bed bits. You get an email for every acceptance and rejction?! I must have provided the wrong address...!
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
"is that not the done thing SS?" I don't see why you can't complain if you think you have a legitimate grouse.
But an illegitimate quail, well I just wouldn't bother. A & N usually give a reason for the rejection in the email notifying you of acceptance/rejection.

Because they are paw typists.

Well after 22 years of productions there are plenty of out of work singing cats. Why not put them back to work.
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
I know, Teach. Well spotted. Just keeping you on your toes...

"with some exceptions most likely cat errors" Dan, I know Adam and Noonan are overworked, but have they really got cats working for them now?
teacher commented on 06.14.05
watch your spelling Smart Set, you dropped a 't' back there...

Thanks DVD Dan! That clears things up. Not much chance of a DC-3 in Bristol - so I shall remember not to bother with frames/headboards etc in future - feel happier about bases though as they are pretty hard to tell apart from matts when at a distance (and often they are for me - as a newcomer I am still a bit scared that people will come out and beat me up for taking pictures of their house and I just don't think explaining that I am trying to capture their matt will wash....!)

ND The Mattress Maestros have tightened up their submission criteria in the last few months. Especially when it comes to "Sans" stuff. Naked bed frames and head boards, rail bolts and such won't make the cut, unless you happen to catch a DC-3 on fire landing in the background.
Bare springs now go in the newer cat skinless, before they would be probably "untouchables", but not sans because they are/were matts after all. One thing that may confuse you is that we yanks (for the most part) don't really differentiate between mattresses and boxsprings (bases). They are the same size and from a distance it can be hard to tell the differnce if only one or the other has been abandoned. So bases aren't sans either, with some exceptions most likely cat errors.

Actually...I just did a quick scour of "Sans mattress" again and it does seem to be mostly frames and stuff...which begs the question, what was wrong with my little single bed frame propped up against a skip!? can I complain!? or is that not the done thing SS?
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.14.05
Oh!? So bases are NOT "sans". I did have a quick look before to check - I have submitted a couple of bases and assumed they would be as bases seemed to feature in "Sans mattress". I have also submitted a bed frame that was not posted by the Streetmattress Misters...so assumed that was not allowed! (After it was not posted, I even sent an apology for wasting their time - as had submitted others in the meantime!?) and bare spings? Could feature in "Sans mattress" as well as skinless? Oh man, now I am confused!!
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
ND, I would not call you thick - I mean, hey, you have a degree! : / You are a relative newcomer, so of course some aspects of streetmattress may be confusing. The "Sans Mattress" category, even though it contains quite a few matts and bases by mistake, is basically for things like bare springs, bed frames (iron or wooden), hammocks, sofabeds without their mattressy bits...
Browse the category and you'll get the idea.
Nancy Dumpling Can't Write commented on 06.14.05
Whoops! From my limited experience, I thought if it's a bed base (or BAD BASE) then that's "sans". So...because it looked like a mat, even though it was a base, it's not sans? HELP!! Am I being thick?
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
ND, I used the word 'bedbase', but you sound as though you've not come across it. So you changed it to 'badbase', which is another interesting streetmattress coining. Anyway, the pic looks like a matress standing up, but this is the side of a rather chunky bedbase.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.14.05
Well, I thought it looked like a mat but you use the word badbase? Whatever, it's cool.
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
I don't know. Many a good pic goes uncommented-on. This shouldn't be "Sans", in any case.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.14.05
Is the lack of comments because it's "sans" - less kudos in the eyes of some?
Smart Set commented on 06.14.05
Thank you, ND. I thought so, too.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 06.14.05
You deserve a comment for the dandelion alone......very fetching.
