..with a final heart renching CRUNCHHHH the big yellow Matt Gobbler, sucked the Matt an dbase into its bowels.. the electrifying silence that followed was broken only by the sorrowful wails of a black clad mourner who sadly climbed the steps to pay her final respects.. mindful fo what had been and fearful of what was to follow on the streets of Acton (as well as other matt-places worldwide) as the dreaded Dumped Rubbish Investigation Units (DRIUs) set out to devestate the world of Mattress lovers forever...let this sorry tale be a message to you all, if you see a Matt abandoned and alone by the side of the road, spare a moment to photograph it, and if you have it in your heart, rescue the Matt, take it home and protect, preserve and cherish it, for you never know where the DRIUs may strike next...may the Matt force be with you...................

I like the way it changes from a Mat on da Move to a Dumpster Diver at the last.
I'm amazed that no one spoke to you as you snapped away. When I went to the Bracknell tip a paranoid jobsworth told me I wasn't allowed to take photos without permission from the manager. It was too late though - I had my pics.

I am delighted that A & N posted the full story TY!... TY for the feedback SS, in answer to your questions...
1. I spotted the lovely DS heading west along the Vale... 2. The owner saw me taking pics as did everyone else at the 'Recycling centre' - noone questioned me, commented on, or seemed bothered about my actions, even tho' I also videoed the final death throes of the Matt (and had NO rubbish to dump either!) 3. I spoke to noone at the scene - and noone spoke to me. 4. That is exactly how I spell "devastated" 5. I thought that this photo-sequence deserved a *MdeM* for the DS if nothing else!!!!

A brilliant piece of photojournalism, pb. Some questions: 1. Where did you begin tailing the DS? 2. Did its owner see you taking pics?
3. Did you speak to anyone at the scene? 4. Did you know that that is not how you spell "devastated"? :P
