Gimme A Break - 02.02.05
submitter: Smart Set
location:Acton, London, UK
It's only 8.45 a.m. but already the ruthless operatives of the DRIU are parked up and having a coffee break. They've probably been out on the streets since daybreak (8.30 a.m.). They have at least one mattress in custody in their special high-sided escape-proof unit. The inset pic shows the side view of the doubled-up prisoner.

remind us where you live, Wim, so we make a point never to go there! The DRIU don't seem so bad after all... btw...V3, remember 'Don't Panic!'

Where I live, bins are chipped. We have green bins for green wast (gft, g=groenten=vegetables, f=fruit, t =tuin= garden)and for householdwaste and grey bins for houshold waste. Both are chipped. We pay in advance. Everytime bins are collected they are registered. Unchipped bins or bins without money left on the account are not emptied. The household stuff is deducted per kilo (the bins get weighted automatically), the green per time.Apart from that we have blue sacs for tetrabrik and plastics, paper is collected free, small containers for batteries and chemistry.Only once in a while big volumes (like mats)

We were given new *chipped* wheelie-bins recently by the council! We were told that if they were stolen and recovered, they'd be able to trace them back to us.It sounded feasable at the time, but now you've got me thinking....I think I'll get my Dremmel out and have a little *accident* with mine!!!

I just read that some town in England is installing microchips in their waste cans to track the amount of trash each household generates. I assume a RAT (RubbishAddedTax) will follow shortly.

You couldn't make it up.

Gee I thought you guys made up the DRIU.

Hang on, I think I see the twine in the main pic. So it is the same matt.

Smart Set commented on 02.16.05
Well spotted, FOD. It's highly likely that this is the same matt, as this is the morning after Vogon's pic. It's the same colour and pattern but, having examined my close-up original, there's absolutely no sign of that twine it was trussed up with.

could be a de milo, investigation unit

Is this the same matt as the one below (bound and gagged!), perchance?Man those DRIU nazis are ruthless(and so quick!)
