Doesn't have quite the same appeal as the Cat, does it?

Oh now I see it on the front page under "News" ...duh...

PB - I just took a look and I do find a lot of your photos to be a bit on the dark side (not all). Maybe it's just my monitor. I almost always increase the brightness in my own photos by about 20% before submitting them, as I find that the digital pics just universally come out darker than my eyes see things.
And while I was looking over your showcase, I noticed these cool hovering descriptions that pop up with the mouse now! Are these new? Try it and see!

V3 - thanks for your support on this matter! SS - I thought that you were fiddling about with saturation and colour balance explains the surreal qualities to some of the photos... DVD - the dark/dreariness of some of my photos is intentional to capture the mood of the despondency of the abandoned Matt... Rebecca - whose are normal?
Rebecca commented on 02.13.05
I dunno, they mostly look pretty normal to me. Maybe I just see that way. This one, on the other hand, is too dark for me to make out much of anything.
Smart Set commented on 02.13.05
Yes, I usually give it a bit of a saturation increase, probably because I'm a bit colour blind. Am I overdoing it? England *is* a bit dreary in winter.

SS your pictures for me are actually electric are you punching up your colours? Doesn't seem like dreary Old England.
DVD Dan commented on 02.13.05
Dark and dreary yes but I can certainly see the horse and the other horse/man.

Hmmm... Having found this monitor test card, at: www.reeddesign.co.uk/testcard
I must concede I couldn't see the 0 at all and the 1 not very well, so maybe you have a point. Having adjusted the monitor so I can see 1-10, I can now see the horses. Trouble is, quite a few of my pics now look washed out, but maybe I'll get used to it. Do you think my pictures have tended to be too light?
Smart Set commented on 02.13.05
Do my pictures all look too light to you, then? The majority of people's pics look fine, so how can it be my screen? You agreed with me about some of psychobabble's dark pictures...
Vogon3 commented on 02.13.05
SS I think you need to sort out your screen as you have complained about this before but they look fine to me
psychobabble commented on 02.12.05
SS, I leave them 'au naturel' to give you something to do to fill your time whilst waiting for the next matt to appear!
Smart Set commented on 02.12.05
psycho, you really must lighten up your darker pics - this almost looks like a night shot, but when enhanced it's clearly day, and a much nicer picture.
Smart Set commented on 02.12.05
Nice touch of widescreen. Can't make out the horse, though - must be a dark one.
