I passed it at 85 Mph and then I had to drive at 60 Mph hoping that she would pass me because she is stil learning to drive, therefor the "L" in the left corner. Adventually, she did.

L is for Love

Maybe I'd better said: there must be a colour to tell a man is driving ;-)

...and it's not for lack of skill ;)

'There must be a colour to tell a women is driving.' That's not a very nice thing to say, I know (several) women drivers in their 40s that would likely have you begging to be let out at the next stop if they heard you say something like that. Let me know if you're ever in California and I'll make sure you get a ride..

Learner drivers have to attach a large red 'L' (on white background) to the front and back of their cars in the UK. and then if you want, you can put a green 'L' on your car for a while after you've passed your test to say that you've only recently passed.

Well that's interesting. We need something like that here in the U.S. Mostly you can spot the new drivers around here by their booming stereos and their apparent lack of common safety measures. Occasionally one will crash, die, and my husband says that's just natures way of keeping that sort out of our gene pool (he said that, not me).

There are several ways to get a driving license in Belgium but there will always be a period that you drive with a temporary license so that you can get some experience in real life instead out of books. In that time you have to have a "L" on your rear (above the left corner of the matt, in blue) so that the rest of the world knows that you are learning to drive. So that people are carefull around you and pass you as quick as possible ;-)
