but then it stops being a bungalow

When there is a second story like this it's called 1 1/2 floors because upstairs is not fullu square. Just one or two rooms built in the middle of the gables.

in our definition a bungalow has everything on the ground floor, if there is one roopm on a second level it is a semi-bungalow

I don't think this would be a bungalow where we live

"Willow weep for me"... no more

More than likely it was a Willow Oak.

sounds nice. too bad the big old tree to left had to be cut down. Would that have been a North Carolina yellow pine?

Actually rk some of these style houses are pretty nice. Extensive wood trim inside. French doors seperating rooms. Big cooks kitchens. Some of them have covered drive thru's that lead to a kitchen door, i believe would have been a servants door in some cases. Alot of them have screen porches in the back where laundry was done origianlly and they all have these classic fron porches.
