| Smart Set commented on 10.14.07 | | Wikipedia tells us that "the two numbers indicate the size of the water main in millimetres (top number) and the distance in metres from the sign (lower number). Older signs may use Imperial units." Since a 4mm water main seems a little on the small side, I'm guessing this old sign is in feet.
