| wim commented on 08.29.07 | | yes SS, it comes from the german word "winkel" meaning corner, and as shops used to be on corners it became the word for "shop", in dutch there still is one word referring to this "winkelhaak" meaning the "square" used in drawing and in industrial measuring |
