The plates say "New Jersey" but the open garage with mat says "Newport Beach, California".

Rebecca,
shush - my wife might be lurking. I don't want to end up a real "Street Husband"

Honestly, Dan, I thought maybe we could get together for coffee or something. Sheesh, some people....

Rebecca,
Keep your mitts off my matts :)

Hey Dan, I'm going to be heading to Long Beach from San Diego Thursday afternoon (tomorrow). I'll be in your neighborhood.

I do find it noteworthy that every garage in Newport Beach seems to house mattresses. Frank, it is not true that every garage in the U.S. is full of mattresses, just those in Orange County.

I think I do carports but not garages. Porches sometimes if I'm feeling desperate. I try to avoid mattress stores altogether because the ethical dilemma tears me up.

Frank - I also kind of agree. Until a week ago I was rejecting any matts that were completely inside a dwelling. Then I drove by "Padded Room" and thought that was pretty interesting, so I reviewed other submissions and many others are including matts inside structures, including yourself. Also in Southern California a garage is basically our version of an Alabama porch. So I ammended my personal definition of Street Matts to:
1. A matt on the street.
2. A matt visible from the street, but not being used as a mattress.(ie. no bedroom windows)
3.Matts inside mattress stores don't count (way too easy)
4. Matts outside mattress stores count if in transit to or fro.
5. Exceptions of course for unusual situations.

Frank - i guess they are but you're right. they are boring.

I find "garagemattressess" a bit boring, are it real streetmattresses? It looks as if every garage in the States has one, so that makes some millions.
