Returning from our walk on the hill, spotted these three matts outside the Acton Recycling Community shop.

The undulations of the Acton landscape must remain a mystery to us mere mortals who but fleetingly inhabit it.

How is Acacia Road a more direct route from Springfield Park than Highlands Avenue? I think you are confused, SE.

You like the long way round, do you?W Highlands Avenue is way further up Horn Lane. But going from this spot up Acacia Road, which is the more direct route, you're definitely going uphill. This bit always floods, but *my* road doesn't ever, so there. Hah!

OK, it's all uphill from Acton Park to your cloud-wreathed hilltop house, but if you leave Springfield Park and cross into Highlands Avenue, Cumberland Road etc, where is the uphill section? Aha! Answer me that.

Poor you. Even in your car?

My house is on top of the hill. Horn Lane (Springfield Park) and East Acton Lane (Acton Park) are on either side of the hill. Whichever park I visit, going home is always an uphill struggle.

No. Really? Which hill? Acton Park is not as nearby as Springfield Park.
Sleepeasy commented on 07.30.07
Gosh what a coincidence. Did you know, they are also building a vast underground reservoir in nearby Acton Park, the other side of the hill.

The whole area in the background flooded in torrential rain a week ago, just as it has done for the past 100 years or more. Only now are they planning a vast underground reservoir-thingy to be built beneath the swings in nearby Springfield Park.
