I told you this was not the dump.

As for Eclipse, I know, it was terribly cruel. I waited at the bottom of the stairs, listening to him listen to the record. There he was, anticipating his favourite track, the one to complete his blissful experience; and there I was, anticipating his dismay. Awful, really. But he did deserve it. He was vile, back then. Not now though. Now we don't have to live together, it's easy to be kind and gentle with each other.

i'm only remembering the single it had a 'High Chaparel' feel to it.

Telstar not really our thing; but we could stretch to something Kinksish. To coin a phrase.

Smart Set commented on 04.02.07
Telstar wasn't spaghetti-Westernish at all. It was all space-ageish with hymn-like overtones.

robert k commented on 04.02.07
so long as you don't play Telstar

robert k commented on 04.02.07
you eclipsed Eclipse. Very cruel.

Once, my brother had done something cruel and unnecessary to me, I took my revenge by making a very deep scratch across the last track of Dark Side of the Moon. He never forgave me.

Sleepeasy commented on 04.02.07
Hey rk, will you invite us to your party? I'll bring the band, we'll play!

robert k commented on 04.02.07
Telstar. That was pretty spaghetti-westernish sounding wasn't it?

robert k commented on 04.02.07
not unil October

Smart Set commented on 04.02.07
Have you actually turned fifty yet?

Smart Set commented on 04.02.07
Very impressive "first single", rk. My first single was 'Telstar' when I was 8.

I went to see The Kinks at Jazz Bilzen, had a mobylette, must have been in 1968 or so. I think Lola was allready released

1957. I was only six and a half when i bought the Kinks much to my parents' chagrin. My two year old brother flung the record out the second story bathroom window while i was taking a bath. never replaced it.

Sleepeasy commented on 04.02.07
So were you born around 1950 then, rk?

Smart Set commented on 04.01.07
I bought that too. Still got it.

robert k commented on 04.01.07
my first 45 rpm bought with my own money was Kink's 'You Really Got Me' flip side 'All Day And All Of The Night.'

On a cold and frosty morning, Wipe my eyes and stop me yawning. And my feet are nearly frozen, Boil the tea and put some toast on. What are we living for? Two-roomed apartment on the second floor. No chance to emigrate, I'm deep in debt and now its much too late
