Well it strikes me as some sort of conceptual art installation, or perhaps a large easel or white board for making presentations at company meetings. Or maybe just a place to go sit and think about reclining. Maybe it would be better if the chair was lying on its back, to go with the vertical mattress. Or, possibly I have over-analyzed the whole thing and this mattress has been put in place by the residents to block noise from the street or cover a broken window.
