I used to have "brothers in arms" on vinyl, but my first wife threw it at me when we were splitting our record collection and couldn't agree who was to keep it.I ducked, and it smashed on the wall.I let her keep it.(and the phone bill)

we all are different, thank god (?), I'm off to bed as it is 1.00 in the morning here, goodnight

I think "So far away" is one of the better-known ones, not that I'm the expert. The only other one I would know would be "Sultans of swing" or maybe, possibly, "Water of love" although I had to google for that.

ART commented on 10.27.05
so far away, not one of his best known, strange woman you are. Hey, SS said to google "i Feel lucky"...google for "failure" and use "I feel lucky", you will be surprised!

Rebecca commented on 10.27.05
I'm not surprised I didn't notice, as I'm not that familiar with his stuff. The onlt one I really recognise is "So far away."

no idea, it was getting harder and harder, as you mentioned yourself, sometimes it has not much to do with what you saw, but I did my best...I still have a Brothers in Arms to submit (you'll find out why it took me so long), and there are still some great titles waiting. But it's getting harder and harder because my feeling with the English language gets in the way.

Yes, surprising it took me so long, as I'm familiar with titles like "Walk of Life", "Private Investigation" and "Lady Writer". On #9317 ("Telegraph Road") I even looked up the lyrics so that I could parody them in my comment. Are you going to continue now the game's up?

ART commented on 10.26.05
smile on my face, that took you long, music-loving-hunters...my guess was SS, Rebecca or Noel to find out, but much sooner then this...we even had discussions about music, I even mentioned my love to DS and MK, anyway congrats to you SS, and yes dad, this title is a song of MK, you should even know it, it's the accordeonpart in the concert you saw.

Smart Set commented on 10.26.05
Do you mean "No way am I going to look at a MK lyric site!" or "No way has ART done that!"?

Rebecca commented on 10.26.05
Oh, no way!

Smart Set commented on 10.26.05
Or better still, Google "Mark Knopfler lyrics" and hit "I'm Feeling Lucky" for a more comprehensive list of ART's mattress-pic titles.

Look back through ART's titles, then look at this: www.lyricsfreak.com/d/dire-straits/

I recognise this as (almost)the opening line to "Brothers in Arms", and now I look back at ART's titles it is apparent that he's been plundering the Mark Knopfler songbook for titles ever since about July. I had occasionally wondered why some of the titles seemed to bear so little relation to the matt's situation!

the pointe of the title makes no sense to me. Is it in the same series?
