SHHH!!! not to loud, Jimmy the Cheese might be watching.
Smart Set commented on 10.13.05
Not too chillin, I hope - doesn't look very sunny. Incidentally, you look exactly like a guy I used to know called Paul Stevens. He was given a new identity under a witness protection program...
Chaf commented on 10.13.05
That would be me sir, chillin on the NC coast. That's also me and the girls standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
Rebecca commented on 10.13.05
Oh lovely. Not one of my better comments, unfortunately.
Smart Set commented on 10.13.05
Rebecca, your jet-lag comment was the 3000th earned comment on my pics.
Rebecca commented on 10.13.05
If I may speak for Dan, I believe what he meant was that Chaf has already posted that link.
Smart Set commented on 10.13.05
Deja vu what, Dan?
Smart Set commented on 10.13.05
Thanks for those pics, Chaf, and the name-check. Some nice work there. The pickup picture fooled me for a while. I don't really see why Adam rejected that one, given the occasional Photoshop efforts with no real mattresses that are on the site already, but it's possible that Noonan accepted those ones(?). If you stick to real streetmatts I guess you can't go wrong, even if you 'shop them a bit, or a lot, like this one of mine. So, is that you nearest the camera in the beach shot?

Pretty much, ART, but it's all cut-and-paste. I took a screenshot of one of my SM pages that had a vertical-format 300x400 pic, then pasted my new pic over the existing pic. Cut and pasted the words for the title, the date and the description from three other SM pages (and the category, as the original was a Beside the Point and this one isn't), made sure the title was centred, then resized the whole thing.
ART commented on 10.12.05
made a screenshot with the most details on it that he needed, pasted in his new pic and altered some texts using the font of the site and that'll be it, my guess
Rebecca commented on 10.12.05
I get the whole self-referential paradox bit but how did you do it?
Smart Set commented on 10.12.05
It's meant to be a self-referencing artwork thingy. Kind of a paradox idea - a picture of what's on your screen (more or less). The mattress pic and title are new, but the whole submission looks as though it's a SM screenshot. I wanted to do something a bit different. (It now also serves as a memorial to the short-lived counter comma and the large navigation buttons.)
Rebecca commented on 10.12.05
I'm not understanding it either, sorry to say. Jet lag maybe.
ART commented on 10.12.05
still don't get it, have you send in a photo-shopped mattress, or is this a screenshot from a matt you had already send in... I have a personal disk failure this week, brains are overheating
Smart Set commented on 10.12.05
No, it's still Adam doing it all. As was said, in an automated system, how would the category be assigned? How would unsuitable images be detected?
Nancy Dumpling commented on 10.12.05
Very impressive! So, have we established that we now have some sort of auto post thing going on? Apologies, I have had a hard drive failure this week and so have been a bit out of it....
Smart Set commented on 10.12.05
Just keeping myself amused, ND.
Nancy Dumpling commented on 10.12.05
What is this all about!?
DVD Dan commented on 10.12.05
You know this wouldn't have worked a week ago.
Chaf commented on 10.12.05
Nice technique. Check out http://jboymc.blogspot.com/ to see what got rejected. May have been a little over the top.
