I see that my last comment was #23456. I love it when that happens.

Re-submit them, enclosing a crisp fiver, that should do the trick.

Salinger commented on 09.23.05
SS, I'm not sure. Herrang Matts 3 and 4 were similar to Herrang Matt 5; all yellow foam-like creatures. I'll admit that 5 is in a better context but 3 benefitted from a joint Ragnhild-Salinger point. And you don't get many of those.

Ragnhild, being every so slightly English (tea solving every disaster, knowledge of appropriate pub talk and the avoidance of any sort of money talk!) I'm not quite as anti-Swedish as you Norwegian folks.

but salinger, do we really want to help the swedes? Sweden has already passed Ireland, thanks to us!

Truck tire tubes are the best for bouncing around on ocean waves.

FOD, how about a game of cup and ball and a slab of tea at Mrs Miggins' pie shop?

Smart Set commented on 09.12.05
What do you think was the reason for their rejection, if indeed they were? I wouldn't expect an old pro like you to submit anything iffy.

Salinger commented on 09.12.05
It's a real shame Herrang Matts 3 and 4 weren't accepted. They were good..

We used to 'liberate' them from a local farm, blow them up, and float across the village pond on them! (then we'd pick up out top+whip, or stick + hoop, and skip merrily home just in time for cream teas and lashings of ginger beer!)

Must be going back a while. All I can remember from childhood is the modern plastic kind.

FOD40UK commented on 09.12.05
They were blown-up car or truck (or in my neck o'the woods, tractor) inner tubes.

When?

CLEVERFOD40UK commented on 09.12.05
Yes!

Were rubber rings ever really made of rubber?
