Predictive Powers of the Matt Hunter - 05.06.10
submitter: Smart Set
location:Acton, London, UK
As I walked back home from the Great West matt, in the same direction as the woman, I saw a guy get a bike out of the van. As I drew alongside, another guy removed a bed base, and I quickly got my camera out. As I walked past the van I turned and raised my camera, somehow knowing that a mattress would now be there. This was the pic I got.

Thanks, FOD. Where have you been all this time?

just catching up on some I've missed....Very nice, SS (tho' being an 'oldskool' matt hunter, I never 'shopped any of mine..top shot tho'!

Yeah, that is a nice one. Trouble is, so many of yours are good - it's expected of you!

I thought one of mine #22666 was mdm-worthy for a lot of the same reasons, although yours has a particular je ne sais quoi

Thanks, rk. Actually, the woman's position and attitude is reminiscent of Lartigue's famous "Avenue du Bois" photo of 1911.

Fantastic picture SS, well done on MdM

Leaving pics au naturel is fine, but it looked a bit flat in its unretouched state, due to being taken against the light. I've overcooked the sky a bit, though!

I never fiddle in Photoshop ( because I do'nt know how. It reminds me of Tati and Monsieur Hulot in "Mon Oncle" 1958 en in " Traffic" the same kind of setting and colors. Like falling in love for the first time.

Thanks, wim. Didn't change camera settings, just point-and-shoot. Fiddled in Photoshop, naturellement.

SS pushing his umbrella, so good, your own shadow is not on the picture, it feels like fresh soap from the old days

wim commented on 05.06.10
did you change camera settings?

wim commented on 05.06.10
I am impresed. It reminds me of a film director that uses this kind of colours, science fiction in true life. This is one of the best ever. Congratulations
